This week, a glimpse of Jakuta's heartbreak...
“Your goddess watch over you, sweetness.”
He couldn’t manage any more than that and
Gràinne didn’t seem to have anything to say in response. After a brief
hesitation, she raised one hand in farewell and disappeared in a swirl of
powerful magic.
He’d known, he reminded himself, that if
she were once more whole, complete, with all emotions intact, what she felt for
him would fade.
The knowledge didn’t ease the agony tearing
at his heart. Blind, deafened by the enormity of his loss, Jakuta transported
himself away from the Midnight Café, not sure he would ever be able to return.

Poignant six...Very emotional.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and for your comment, Sara. Yes, this is a pretty highly charged scene in the book and I'm glad you picked up on it.
DeleteOoh, intriguing. And I'm curious to see how tattoos play into this story, since it's part of the Pricked theme. Great six, Anya :)
ReplyDelete*waggles eyebrows* Hope you'll find it interesting Karla! Thanks for stopping by!
DeletePoor guy. You can really feel his heartbreak.
ReplyDeleteHe's such a big, strong guy too... :( Sometimes I hate having to put my guys through the black moment, but without it, where's the book, right?
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that was deep. Nicely done.
