Amazing reviews for Dragon's Claim

I'm flying high on the reviews of Dragon's Claim that have been posted since its release, two awesome ones coming out almost back-to-back over the last couple of days. This first review, a five star one, on April 29th, was from The Jeep Diva's site and said in part:

"Dragon’s Claim by Anya Richards was an exquisite tale of the unrequited love between long ago friends and the courage they exhibited to pursue and cement their love..." "I felt every nuance of their despair and Ms. Richards words brought me to tears." You can read the full review here.

Then, on June 15th, RomFan Reviews posted their review (five men) the highlight of which, for me anyway, was:
"This was one of the most powerful love stories I've read in a long time." "...I actually found myself tearing up towards the end when they're saying their goodbyes." Read the rest here.

Finally, today, came a 4.75 star review from the Joyfully Jay site. Snippets that thrilled me included:
"They are one of my new favorite couples." "This tale is captivating. It’s a sweet, exciting, sad, heart-pounding rollercoaster ride, and completely worth it."
Full review here.

It's been wonderful to see others have enjoyed this book as much I have... have fallen in love with the characters, which happen to be two of the favorite I've ever written.

I'm in the process of writing a series of short, historical fantasy-based m/m novellas, and can only hope they'll be as well received!

The Week Ahead

It’s Monday, but I’m still on vacation! What a lovely feeling…of course, tomorrow I’m back at the EDJ, but it’s been fun while it lasted. Got some stuff done, was privileged to read both Cristal Ryder and Amy Ruttan’s new WIP (well, they were WIPs, but are now subs, GO GIRLS!), took the pup to the vet and did some shopping. I’m glad to report that the vet was pleased with Sable-girl’s condition. She and I seem to be coming to a bit more of an understanding about who, exactly, is Alpha Bitch in the house, so all is well in that regard!

This week I plan to finish the book I’m working on, book three in my Unveiled Seductions series, and start making some plans for the next. Right now what that will be is very much up in the air, because there are so many plots and so little time, plus a tempting sub call I just saw and am trying to talk myself out of trying for.
But until the book I’m working on now is finished, I have no brain-space to think about anything else.

Somehow this one has gotten under my skin and I find myself wanting to make the journey for this couple as perfect as possible. I can’t remember the last time I’ve stressed this way over every scene, every word, every piece of dialog. I’m always anal when it comes to writing and editing, but this book has taken me to a whole new level. Pray God it comes out the way I hope. The expending of emotion is wearing me out.

Well, hope everyone has a great week and read on…there are worlds out there waiting for us to discover!

Six Sentence Sunday!

Wow, this week has flown by. I was battling the after-effects of a bad cold and fighting with the end of Arctic Destiny, which just wasn't meeting my expectations. I think I have it sorted out now, and hope to have it out the door by the end of the weekend :) In honor of that achievement, I thought I'd share a little more of this story. My CP describes Finn as one of my "tortured" heroes and one way of torturing a man is to show him the love of his life and then make her beyond his reach. I so evil...
Make sure to check out some of the other fabulous offerings through the Six Sentence Sunday website, and have a great week!

There was nothing he wanted more than to surround her, hold her as close as he could and never let her go. The enormity of those feelings, the sheer devastating power of them, made it hard to breathe.

Tasha stirred slightly. “You okay?”

He realized he had wrapped his arms around her, was squeezing far too tightly, and loosened his hold. “How could I not be, having you here like this?”

Six Sentence Sunday!

Welcome to my corner of Six Sentence Sunday! I'm getting to the end of my WIP, tentatively called Arctic Curse (although I think I prefer Arctic Light, and either would work). It's paranormal, set in Manitoba, near the town of Churchill, which is known as the polar bear capital of the world. It's just after midnight here in London, Ontario, and I'm posting this before I go to bed, because later this morning I'm going to my first ever Powwow! I'm very excited, and hope to have some pictures to share.

In this six sentence snippet the heroine, Tasha, is re-learning what it means to have the hero, Finn, back in her life. I hope you enjoy it!

“Shh, sweetheart,” he whispered, his hands trailing slowly over her hips and thighs. “Let me take care of you.”
Shudders chased over her skin and she yearned to cry out again, demand satisfaction, but when he played the game this way it was even more thrilling, so she forced her body to stillness. Yet, even knowing what was happening, the wave of longing his words inspired was still a little shocking. Only with him was she content to let him do whatever he wanted to her body. Only he could demand she be quiescent and passive, tied down and helpless—his love slave—and make her crazy with need.
